1st/36th Doncaster (St Peter’s Warmsworth) Scouts is a thriving group that has been providing fantastic Scouting to our young members for over 60 years. Originally known as 1st Doncaster St Peter’s, the current name came into being following a merger with the 36th Warmsworth in 2008.
The Group is based in our own Headquarters behind the White Church in Balby and our members come from the surrounding villages of Balby, Warmsworth and Edlington.
Due to a brilliant team of volunteers we offer Scouting to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14.
Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. Our Group gives members and volunteers the opportunity to develop and grow as individuals by offering a diverse range of activities.
The Group is part of Doncaster Danum District which also has a full calendar of events that we participate in.
The adults that run 1st/36th Doncaster are all volunteers giving up their time to support the aims of the Scout Association and ensuring that young people are offered fantastic opportunities. All leaders have full time jobs and their own family commitments too.
The Group is led by the Group Scout Leader (GSL) and managed by an Executive Committee.
Each Section is run by a Section Leader who is supported by Assistant Section Leaders and Section Assistants. The Section Leaders report to the GSL who in turn reports to the District Commissioner for Doncaster Danum Scouts.
All leaders and Executive Committee members are required to undertake training appropriate and relevant to their role.
